Inhibition of trypsin, chymotrypsin, and plasmin by an inhibitor isolated from sheep serum.
نویسنده
چکیده
A proteolytic enzyme inhibitor has recently been isolated from sheep serum and, by several criteria, viz. electrophoretic, chromatographic, and ultracentrifugal analysis, apparently behaved as a single component (1). Rat skin proteinase A (2) was used as the test enzyme for the purification of the inhibitor. It has now been determined that this inhibitor preparation can also decrease the activity of trypsin, chymotrypsin, and plasmin but is without effect on several other enzymes. This information, in conjunction with a molecular weight determination, permits a more critical comparison of the properties of the inhibitor from sheep serum with the properties of inhibitors isolated by other workers. A preliminary account of some of this work has been reported elsewhere (3).

The plasmin inhibitor of human plasma. IV. Its action on plasmin, trypsin, chymotrypsin, and thrombin.
Purified al-proteolytic inhibitor from human plasma was shown to inhibit trypsin, chymotrypsin, plasmin, and thrombin. This inhibitor is probably identical with the inhibitor previously known as serum trypsin inhibitor, al-antitrypsin, or antiplasmin. The enzymes were affected by the inhibitor via two different mechanisms. Trypsin and chymotrypsin reacted instantaneously in stoichiometric manne...
متن کاملSerum Inhibition of Plasmin
In the various studies tha t have been done on the inhibition of proteolytic enzymes by serum, no distinction has been made in the inhibition of different enzymes. I t has generally been assumed that all proteolytic inhibition is caused by the same substance in serum and that this substance is occasionally increased in association with disease. There has been no evidence for the existence of se...

Acid stable trypsin inhibitor having the same antigenicity as urinary trypsin inhibitor was first identified in the bile of patients with rn~i~~t tumors (biliary tract carcinoma or pancreas head carcinoma) and gallstones. Bile trypsin inhibitor from malignant tumor patients was partially purified by DEAE cellulose ion exchange column chromatography. Two molecular forms of the inhibitor were ide...
متن کاملStudies on the Inhibition of Proteolytic Enzymes by Serum
Variation in the inhibition of trypsin, chymotrypsin, and plasmin by serum was studied in 65 normal individuals and in 117 patients with a variety of diseases. It was shown that elevated inhibition for trypsin and chymotrypsin is associated with disease processes that bring about cellular destruction. Changes in the inhibition of trypsin and chymotrypsin were closely correlated with changes in ...
